This continuous arrival of outside merchants lead to the rule of the East India Company and later the period of British colonial rule. At present, it has a beautiful corniche and park. One can have a complete relaxation therapy at the pleasant beach. The rock studded beach is also known as Kappakkadavu. The idyllic beach is apt for rejuvenation of body and soul. Rocks with unique formations are spread all over the beach. A long queue of coconut trees and glittering silver sand of the beach makes it as beautiful as a paradise.
