Kotdwara is situated on the foothills of the Shivaliks at a distance of 101kms from Pauri. It is positioned at an elevation of 454 m above sea level. Kotdwara means access to Garhwal. Kotdwar is renowned for the presence of several temples such as the Siddhbali temple which is situated at a distance of 2 kms from Kotdwar. Sidhbali temple is devoted to Lord Hanuman and is visited by numbers of devotees all throughout the year. The Durga Devi temple is also situated at a distance of 2kms from Kotdwar and is one of the most renowned temples of the area.
