The climate is cool and dry during the summer, while the winter is tolerably cold with a dry wind blowing.
Weather in Dhanaulti changes dramatically with just slight variations in altitude. The top of mountains are typically covered with snow year long, temperatures drop sharply at about 4200 feet in some places, and there is always a westerly wind descending from the mountaintops to bring rain on its lower slopes and yield crops.

The nearest Airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, 86 km away. From here take a taxi to Dhanaulti.

By Rail

The nearest railway head is at Dehradun, 66 km away. From here you can drive up to Dhanaulti, or take a tourist taxi.
