Chakrata Dehradun is one of the major tourist destinations in Dehradun. In the banks of two beautiful rivers, Chakrata has a placid environment with varied flora and fauna. Coniferous, rhododendron and oak trees are abundantly found, the rhododendron that bloom during February, March and April make the region more alluring and attract more tourists. Tiger fall, a mesmerizing waterfall, is the major attraction of Chakrata. Chakrata village also has several natural caves. And several temples like Hanol, Indroli, Lakhwar, Lakhamandal, Mahasu Devta Temple, Radina and Thaina with their legends relating to the Hindu holy epic Mahabharata are other beautiful sites that tourists must visit in Chakrata.

Yamuna valley is located down the hilly town and the panoramic view of the surroundings from the hillock is astonishing. Chakrata was developed by the British rulers and was a summer retreat for the high executives of English East India Company. Presently Chakrata encloses military cantonment and the access is restricted here for civilian travelers.

Thriving by the lush greeneries with dense forests all around, Chakrata is famed as a tourist destination to spend vacations merging with the Mother Nature’s grandeur gift. Chakrata is a small hill town near Dehradun located on top of the Yamuna valley, amidst lush green forests, caves and ancient temples. By Rail

The nearest railway station to Chakrata is Dehradun railway station at a distance of 92 km. from the town. Dehradun railway station is connected with the major Indian cities through a network of trains.
