Vikarabad

Vikarabad is a town and Headquarters of the vikarabad district of the south Indian state of Telangana. It is located 25 KM towards west from District head quarters Hyderabad. It is a Mandal head quarter. The Ananthagiri hills - the region for adventure journey are situated at a distance of 10 km from Vikarabad. Atop, the hills provide a panoramic view. The adjoining land comprises red soils, which is in turn formed from rock and loose soil. Vikarabad adventure is a boon for tourists who are on the lookout for beautiful landscape with orchids around, pleasant chirping of birds in the wild and splendid spectacle of freshwater streams. Visitors can also venture to the interior of the adjoin forest and view the exciting spectacle of wildlife, streams that play tunes in the solitude and the lush greenery. The forest is not too dense to make you lost.

Ananthagiri Temple in the village of Ananthagiri, 6 km far from Vikarabad Mandal. Ananthagiri Hills, a forest region which is home to the Anantha Padnabhanaba Swamy temple. and the source of the Musi River. Telangana has second largest tuberculosis hospital is located in the Ananthagiri hills. Dharur and Anandgiri hills where know to be mini Hill station of the Deccan. He died in 1902 and is buried at the Paigah Tombs at Hyderabad.
