Bellampalli or Bellampalle (Telugu) is a City, mandal and municipality in the Adilabad district, in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. it is one of the largest city in Adilabad district after Manchiryal. There was an proposal for making Bellampalli as an new headquarters for Adilabad or a new district. Bellampalli is noted for its coal mines belonging to Singareni Collieries Company Limited.In entire Andhra Pradesh/Telangana Bellampalli has the maximum nuumber of coal mines and opencast mines.The first coal mine was established in 1936 by the British government. Later the town developed very rapidly with the discovery and excavation of many coal mines.
