Places To Visit In Srinagar Garhwal Sightseeing

Dhari Devi temple is situated on Rudarprayag road about 15 kms from Srinagar. The temple is visited by many piligrims from many parts of the country to worship Goddess Dhari. Dhari Devi Temple diety is Maa Dhari Devi. Now relocated from 20 meter high rock to man made structure in 2013, 

Kamleshwar is the most popular temple in the town. As per the stories of the local people Lord Shiva was worshipped by Lord Rama with thousand lotus flowers. Lord Rama felt one flower short to make the number of flowers to one thousand and one and for this he offered one of his to Lord Shiva. This is the reason that he is also famous with the name “Kamal Nayan” which means lotus eyed. So, the name of the temple was kept as Kamaleshwar which means lotus God.

There is another temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located on the banks of the sacred Alaknanda River named as Kilkileshwar Mahadev. This sacred temple was established by the legendary Hindu Guru, Adishankaracharya.

It is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Narayan. Built in 1682 AD, the magnificent architecture is fascinating and beautiful. The temple draws devotees in large numbers on pious occasions. According to legends, Kesho Rai started his journey to Badrinath and in this place fell asleep. In his dreams, Lord Narayana urged him to dig that ground. He did accordingly and found the idol of Lord Narayana and established the idol here after constructing this beautiful temple
