Sangrur is a city in the Indian state of Punjab, India. It is the headquarters of Sangrur District. which is bordered by Ludhiana, Moga, Bathinda and Patiala Districts of the state and by Hissar District of Haryana. angrur is also known as the ' City of Gurdwaras' . About eighteen km from Sangrur in Kanjhla village is located Gurdwara Nanak Jhira Sahib. Guru Nanak Dev Ji resided here for some time during the time of his first preaching tour. Even Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji stayed here for some time and during his stay, he cured the village people suffering from leprosy. The gurdwara can be reached after half an hour drive from Sangrur. Akoi Sahib gurdwara is located on Malerkotla-Sangrur Road in the village named Akoi.
