Places To Visit In Pithoragarh Sightseeing

Pithoragarh Fort is a historic architecture situated on a hilltop in the outskirt of the Pithoragarh town. The fort was built by Gorkhas  during Chand period in 1789, after they tookover the town. The fort is located on a hill on the outskirts of Pithoragarh town.

At an altitude of 2,100 m, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Jayanti. It is located at a point, which offers a scenic view of the valley and the hills around and the snow-capped peaks. Distance is 21 km by bus and 5 km trek.

Located at a distance of 20 km from Pithoragarh, this place is of great religious importance. A large fair is held every year during Shivaratri.

It is a cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated in the outskirts of the city. From here, one can have a panoramic view of the Sor Valley and the surrounding Himalayan peaks.
