Qila Mubarak

Patiala

Quila Mubarak served as the residence for the Royal Palace of Patiala. The palace complex is spread across an area of 10 acres and is located in the center of the city. The palace contains a museum and an art gallery which features the Patiala paintings that depict various scenes from the Hindu mythology.



Sheesh Mahal

Patiala

Sheesh mahal or the palace of mirrors was constructed in the 19th century. The Sheesh mahal is adorned with a huge number of frescoes. The construction of the Sheesh Mahal was done under the Maharaja Narinder Singh. The lake located by the palace and the bridge called the Lakshamana Jhula is one of the most famous attractions in Patiala.



Baradari Gardens

Patiala

The name Baradari refers to the 12 doors that serve as an entrance to this historic garden. The garden is a fine specimen of Mughal era architecture that blends the Indian, Persian and Turkic architecture. The garden was built near the palatial residence of Maharaja Rajinder Singh called the Baradari Palace.



Bahadurgah Fort

Patiala

Bahadurgah Fort is a famous tourist attraction of Punjab, located 6 km away from the city of Patiala. It lies at a distance of one and half kilometer from the main gate of Punjab University. The fort was built in 1658, by Nawab Saif Khan and was called Saifabad. Later, Maharaja Amar Singh renovated the fort and renamed it as Bahadurgah Fort.



Moti Bagh Palace

The construction of this palace was started during the reign of Maharaja Narinder Singh and was completed under Maharaja Bhupinder Singh, in the early 20th century. Today, the old palace houses National Institute for Sports. The façade has Rajasthan-style jharokas and chhatris, and the palace is set in a beautiful garden with terraces,



Kali Temple

Patiala

Maharaja Bhupinder Singh built Goddess Kali Temple and brought the 6-feet statue of the Goddess from Bengal to Patiala. The temple attracts both Hindus and Sikh devotees, from distant places.
