Jain Temple

More than 500 years old, the Jain Temple at Jainimedu is well known for its granite walls which are 32 feet long and 20 feet wide. Located on the south banks of River Kalpathy, this ancient temple is enshrined with the images of Jain Tirthankaras and Yakshinis.



Kalpathy Temple

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Kalpathy Temple is a famous temple situated just 3 km away from Palakkad. The temple is mainly renowned for its 7-day Rath Yatra held in the month of November which draws devotees from across the country.



Palakkad Fort

The fort was under the rule of one of the major rulers of South India Tipu Sultan, the son of Hyder Ali of Mysore, who built the fort. This is the reason why the Fort is also called Tipu's Fort. Malampuzha Gardens

Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary

Silent Valley National Park

Spread across an area of 89 square kilometres, the Silent Valley National Park is located in the Kundali Hills of the Western Ghats in Kerala in southern India. Kanjirapuzha Dam

At a distance of 34 Kms from Palakkad, Kanjirapuzha Dam is a fascinating dam surrounded by hills with rich natural beauty. The reservoir is surrounded by an evergreen forest named Vettilachola. Three islands at all sides of the reservoir gain a special attraction. These islands are abundant with marine life including commercial varieties grown by the fisheries department. There is a wonderful garden at bottom of the dam with several facilities. Boating facilities is also available in the reservoir.



Malampuzha Dam

Completed in 1955, the Malampuzha Dam feeds the largest irrigation system in Kerala with a network of canals with a capacity of 115.06 m. This reservoir has the Western Ghats towering over it. Boating and fishing facilities are also available for the visitors. In the lower hills of the Western Ghats lies the beautiful Malampuzha township whose lush greenery and plethora of picnic spots make it a must visit spot in these areas. It has really good trekking trails that are available to all with a penchant for the same. Malampuzha gardens and the irrigation dam tend to be the areas that attract the highest number of visitors.
