Wokha is a town and the district headquarters of the state of Nagaland. The Wokha district was founded in the year 1973, and is inhibited by the Lothas, which is one of the most important tribes of the state. This district is surrounded with several hills and ridges. The district shares its border with Kohima in the south, which is the capital of Nagaland. It is bounded with Mokokchung on its north, Assam in the west, and Zunheboto in the east.
