Yavatmal is a city and municipal council in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the administrative headquarters of Yavatmal District. Formerly known as "Yeoti" or "Yeotmal", Yavatmal City was the main town of the Berar Sultanate and according to old writings "the safest place in the world". The then region of Yavatmal. Later, the British rulers annexed the kingdom. It was initially recognised as a part of central India but when the state of Bombay was formed, Yavatmal was included in it and subsequently it became a part of Maharashta.
Yavatmal also produces jowar and wheat. Many famous clothing brands have set up their production centres in the town. Some of the attractions of the town include the Khojochi Mosque, Jagat Mandir, Datta Mandir as well as the nearby village of Kalamb, among others. Yavatmal is a preferred tourist destination because of the abundance of old temples and unsullied wildlife sanctuaries that offer a peaceful and serene stay.
