This ‘Lord Shiva’ Temple is located at a distance of around 30 kms from Lansdowne and best known for its beautiful surroundings. At a height of 1,800 meters this temple is surrounded by ‘deodar’ and ‘pine’ trees. During ‘Shivratri’ a special worship is done and a local fair is organized. This places is also visited many Indians and foreigners for meditation.
The Bhulla Tal is dedicated to the young Garhwali youth of the Garhwal Rifles who sacrificed their life in the service of the nation. 'Bhulla' means 'younger brother' in Garhwali and hence this name. There is also a children’s park, bamboo machan and fountains located in the surroundings of Bhulla Tal.
This has become one of important tourist attractions in Lansdowne as one can witness panoramic view of Himalayas from this viewing point.Tip-in-Top is on the ridge close to St. Mary’s Church. The glorious view of the Himalayas from this point is amazing. An ideal place to trek to and be rewarded by the unforgettable view.
This war memorial at Lansdowne was founded on 11 November, 1923 by Lord Rawlinson of Trent, who was the then Commander in Chief of India. It is located at the Parade Ground and is a major tourist attraction. Tourists from all over India and abroad who come to Lansdowne must make it a point to visit the Garhwal Rifles War Memorial.
The Regimental Museum, located in Lansdowne was opened in the year 1983 to display the rare collection of the Garhwal Rifles. The Regimental Museum is named after Darban Singh Negi.
The St. John's Church is situated just above the road on the spur below the Forest bungalow. It was built in the year 1934. Since then, the St. John's Church has become the only Church of worship in the whole of Lansdowne.
The construction of St. Mary's Church started in the year 1895 by Col. AHB Hume of Royal Engineers. It was completed in the year 1896. However, gradually it started to deteriorate after it was disused after 1947. But, it has now been restored by the Garhwal Rifles Regiment Centre with additional help from the pre independence photographs.
These are self balancing stones which are believed to placed in such a manner by Bhim (Reference Mahabharata), during ‘Agayat Vas’ of ‘Padavas’. Though this 15 MT (15000 Kg) stone can easily be made to wobble on its axis but never slides down the slope
Hawaghar can be reached after a short trek from Lansdowne. The trek passes through Khyber Pass along the road to Jaiharikhal. The trek is very refreshing with the snow covered mountains all around.
