Shahabad

Shahabad is a town in Gulbarga district in the Indian state of Karnataka. It belongs to Gulbarga Division. It is located 34 KM towards East from District head quarters Gulbarga. 551 KM from State capital Bangalore The river Kagina passes through Shahabad and is a major source of water for the town. The road which connect to shortly with main city of Gulbarga is not yet completed from past fives years.This river Kagina has dried due to illegal sand and stone mining on the river sand beds.

Chandrala Parameshwari temple one of the oldest temple in Gulbarga District. It was build 1200 years back by Chalukya kings, rules this region. It is 10 KM away from Shahabad City. Sharanabasaweshwara Temple and Ramanadevi Temple are famouse tamples of shahabad city. Shahabad city is center for shahabad stone activities. There are stone polishing units, one JP cement apart from this Alstom factory manufacturing Boilers.
