It is located 60 KM towards East from District head quarters Gulbarga. Sedam in ancient times was known Sedimba. Sedam was ruled by Rashtrautas and Kalyani Chalukyas. With its ancient history and very advanced transportation infrastructure, Sedam is a know tourist destination of the area. It is also an important industrial center, with a number of construction material enterprises.
