It has Cotton & paddy fields irrigated by water from the Tunga Bhadra left bank canal. It belongs to Gulbarga Division. It is located 46 KM towards west from District head quarters Raichur. This place is the hometown of the great Madhva follower and dasa, Sri Jagannatha Dasa, who also wrote ‘the Harikathamruthasara’.
