It is located on the bank of the River Bhaden. According to local history, there was a small regime of ‘Haihay King’ in this area and this Siva temple has been founded by the king on the river bank.
Located at a distance of about 1 km from the Jharsuguda Railway station, Jhadeswar temple is famous for its self-appeared Shivalingam. Its date of origin is unknown, but it is said that the lingam used to be worshipped during the reign of Zamindar Govind Singh of Jharsuguda.
The Kolabira Fort with its historical significance and being an entity dating centuries back lies on the banks of the Telen River. Is is located at a distance of 17km from the Jharsuguda Town. Established during the reign of Lt.Jayat Singh, Chohan of Sambalpur, the fort now stands in a dilapidated condition and presently is home to the descendants of Kolabira Zamindar.
The Padmasini Temple of Padampur was constructed somewhere around the 7th century A.D but the history of its origin is still shrouded in mystery. It got destroyed with time and was later re-built by the Chauhan king of Sambalpur in 16th century.
