Ergun, formerly Ergun Right Banner is a county-level city in China's autonomous region of Inner Mongolia. Administratively, Ergun is part of the prefecture-level city of Hulunbuir. It occupies 28,400 km on the right bank of the Argun River, which forms China's border with Russia's Zabaykalsky Krai (formerly, Chita Oblast). The River is crossing in the Mongolian plateau northeastern border. The headwaters of rivers source come out from Daxinganling western slope. The Upstream of river were called Hailar River by the local people. The West flow Manchuria to the northeast near the fold is the Argun. Argun River flows through most of the broad valley, the river is clear and less sediment. During the Floods, the part of the flood flow backward into the Hulun pool. Argun River is confluence with the Shilka River near the west of En Mohe Hada for Heilongjiang.



The famous Erguna Wetland (Genhe Wetland), the largest wetland in Asia. Genhe Wetland is scattered around the forest and the grassland with many types including marshes, shrub swamps, swamp forest, open bogs and moss. Erguna Wetland is on the plain delta formed by Erguna River and other three alpine rivers including Genhe River, Deerbugan River and Hawuer River.
