In the state of Haryana Bhiwani is called as the city of temples due to its numerous religious places dotting the whole city. Apart from its status as Choti Kashi, this city has been a hub of politics as well. The regional politics of Haryana has received its many legendary leaders and Chief Ministers from this city itself. Bhiwani became a district in the year 1972 and since then, it has progressed manifold in terms of industries, trade, and overall infrastructure. It is situated around 124 km from national capital Delhi. This has also boosted prospective for overall development of this district in recent years. It is also a highly populated district in Haryana.



Bhiwani was founded by a Rajput King, Neem Singh and he named the city after his wife’s name Bhani. Later on, Bhani was changed to Bhiwani. It has been an important center of commerce from the time of the Mughals. The city had played a major role in the struggle for independence. Among other famous personalities, the city is a hometown to three of Haryana's chief ministers: Banarsi Dass Gupta, Bansi Lal and Hukum Singh. Bhiwani has its own Railway station. Three railway lines originate from Bhiwani and are connected with major cities of India

Bhiwani has well established markets in various locations approachable for the people residing in different parts of the city. The main markets are located in heart of city but there are some new markets also established in upcoming areas. On one side conventional markets are grooming and acquiring modern techniques to emphasize more on attracting consumer. And on other hand, new shopping complexes are introduced in the region of Bhiwani.
