The Badkhal Lake

Badkhal lake embraces the arms of Aravalli Hills. The name ‘Badkhal’ comes from the word ‘bedakhal’, which is a Persian word to mean ‘free from interference’. During the spring season, a great flower exhibition is organized here. There is also the Peacock Lake, a grand picnic spot to be explored.



Farid Khan’s Tomb

Farid Khan’s tomb has two enormous marble doors; the door facing the east is called the ‘Noori Darwaza’ meaning the ‘Door of Light’; the north door is called the ‘Bahishti Darwaza’ meaning the ‘Door of Paradise’. There are two graves inside, one of Baba Farid and another of his elder son. Women are not allowed to enter the tomb.



Surajkund Lake

Suraj kund lake was constructed in the year 1855 by Surajpal Tomar, a Rajput King. Suraj kund lake's name symbolizes sunrise. Siddha kund is a clean water pool in the vicinity that is Suraj kund lake. The water in Siddha kund has healing properties.

Literally, it is translated to mean"the "Lake of the Sun," the Suraj kund constitutes an ancient water dam among the oldest in India that dates back to the 10th century. The semicircular-shaped man made lake was built in the shape of an amphitheater during its construction. Today, it draws tourists who become attracted by its beauty and history.

The reservoir is believed to be built by hindu king Suraj Pal of the Tomar dynasty. As Suraj Pal was a devotee to God of the Sun, Sun God himself, so he built a Sun temple on the western shore of the lake. If you'd like to view the beauty of this spot, you should visit during the famous craft festival of Suraj kund that takes place every year in February. It is located just 20 kilometers from the center of Delhi. The man-made lake is among the most sought-after destinations among Delhi residents and visitors to the city.

 

 

 



Raja Nahar Singh Palace

Faridabad

Raja Nahar Singh Palace was established around the 19th Century by the Royal Family of Jat Nahar Singh. Another name of the famous palace is the Ballabhgarh Fort Palace. Its distance from South Delhi is 15 kms. With enormous pavilions, huge arches, beautifully embellished rooms and magnificent courtyards, the palace represents a wonderful age of history and the taste of the royal family.
