Places To Visit In Chopta Sightseeing

One of the tourist places in Chopta around 1 kilo meter from Tungnath. People reach the place by a 1 kilo meter trek. From this point tourist can see the snowy peaks of mighty Himalaya. Chandrashila is the highest point which houses Chopta and Tungnath temple. The mountain is perched a height of 4090 meters above the sea level.

Tungnath Temple located at the highest point in the region. The shrine is perched at an elevation of 3680 meters above the sea level. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This is a very sacred destination as the inhabitants believed. This is one of the parts of Panch Kedar. At this temple the arm of the Lord Shiva is worshipped. A 4 kilo meter steep trek will lead tourists to Tungnath.

Deoria Tal is an emerald lake perched  at an elevation of 2438 mts above sea level. During early morning on a clear  day, Deoria Tal blesses the tourists with reflections of Chaukhamba peaks on  its crystal clear water. At Deoria Tal one can experience the best of two  worlds, the first one being the real world and the other one being the  reflection of the beautiful surroundings on the lake.

It is situated 7km from Chopta on Chopta – Gopeshwar Road. Kanchula Korak Musk Deer Sanctuary is famous for breeding musk deer’s. This sanctuary is spread over an area of 5 square kilometres. It is an ideal place for tourists who loves animals and are looking for rare Himalayan wildlife.
