Bilaspur

Located in Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur is one of the largest cities of the state. It is also the administrative headquarters of Bilaspur district. A commercial hub of the North East Chhattisgarh region, it is the headquarters of the South East Central Railway Zone. Since the formation of the Chhattisgarh state, Bilaspur has emerged as one of the most prosperous cities of the country. Bilaspur was named after a beautiful fisherwoman, Bilasa, and its history dates back to 400 years. Bilaspur is mainly an agrarian economy and is one of the largest producers of paddy in the country. Mineral resources are available in abundance in and around Bilaspur; hence, it is a centre of most of the commercial and industrial activities.
