Sheohar, is the principal town of Sheohar district in Bihar, India. It is a part of the Tirhut Division. Sheohar is known for its greenery and cleanest. Cadamba and teak are the principle trees of this district. Nilgai or blue bull is the regional animal of this area. Agriculture is the main stay. It is bounded by three districts from north and east Sitamarhi, from west East Champaran and from south Muzaffarpur.
It is one of the most flood affected district in Bihar. Due to over flooding of the Bagmati and Budhi Gandak rivers. Dekuli is a holy place popular for ancient temple of lord Shiva. It is a floaded areas. A village Dekuli is situate in this district 4(four) miles east of Sheohar. The village contains a group of temples situated in a large courtyard standing at the top of a great mound.
