Mokama


Mokama is a city and a municipality in Patna district in the Indian state of Bihar. It is located 90 km east of Patna on the southern banks of the river Ganges and is a station on the rail route connecting Kolkata to New Delhi via Patna. It is said that Mokama fell on the route of the armies moving along the river Ganges during the Mughal and British periods. It was their resting place or Mukam, which means destination in Hindustani. Thus the name Mokama came into being over the years.



The Tal is a Massive Land Segment in the Mokama under Patna district of Bihar. Many consider it as World’s Largest Tal Region. It extends to the Backwater of Ganga during Monsoon and gives an impression of Ocean to Onlookers. During other Seasons, it provides a very Fertile area for Agriculture.
