Asarganj Tehsil is located in Munger district in Bihar state of India. The total area of the Tehsil is Asarganj is a City in Asarganj Block in Munger District of Bihar State, India. It belongs to Munger Division. It is located 37 KM towards South from District head quarters Munger. It is a Block head quarter.

Before independence it was known as Kachahari (court) of local Jamindar (tax collector of Raj Baneli, headed by Krishnanand Singh.) A famous Badi Durga mandir located at Hat Bazar, Jalalabad.
