Places To Visit In Auli(uk) Sightseeing

Located about 3 kms from Auli, Gusro Bugyal is a huge meadow that is located in a mixed forest of oak and conifer. It is located at an altitude of 3056 metres above sea level. One can reach Joshimath via the ropeway from Auli. From here, it is about 1.5 kms away. However, since there is no accommodation available here, one can only admire the beauty of the place and return back at night.

Chattrakund is located about 1 km. from Gusro Bugyal in the middle of a jungle. It is a lake of sweet water, known as Chattrakund. Since this place is just adjacent to Gusro Bugyal, it can be visited while visiting Gusro Bugyal.

Located about 12 kms from Gusro Bugyal, Kwani Bugyal is a very interesting place for the trekkers. It is located at an altitude of 3,350 metres above sea level. Every year, many tourists come here during the summer months for trekking. Trekking camps are organized in Joshimath, where porters, guides, cooks and camping equipments are available for hire.

Auli Artificial Lake is a pristine lake perched at an astounding elevation. It is one of the worlds highest man-made lakes. The government to provide artificial snow on the ski slopes during scanty rainfall created this lake. The water of this lake is used to feed the snow guns stationed along the ski slopes in order to offer a good surface for skiing. This pristine lake has helped in extending the ski season in Auli.
