Repalle


Repalle is a town in Guntur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The town is one of the 12 municipalities in Guntur district and the headquarters of Repalle mandal under the administration of Tenali revenue division. It is situated near Krishna River in the Coastal Andhra region of the state. It belongs to Andhra region. It is located 61 KM towards East from District head quarters Guntur. The name Repalle is actually formed from two words: Revu (river or bank of the river) and Palle (village). Originally known as Revupalle, the name has evolved to Repalle over time.



The eastern boundaries of the town start at a tree (near the old fort) called Ankamma Chettu, which is one of the oldest trees in town and extends up to Isukapalli in the west; and it starts from Peteru village and extends up to Aravapalli from north to south respectively.
