Nuzvid is a mango city in Krishna district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It serves as the administrative headquarters for Nuzvid mandal and Nuzvid revenue division. The culture of Nuzvid is such that people of all the religions live together with friendly relations and all the festivals like Thirunallu, Eid-Ul-Fitar, and New Year’s Eve are celebrated with great harmony. It belongs to Andhra region. It is located 86 KM towards North from District head quarters Machilipatnam. It is a Mandal head quarter.
Nuzvid is famous for its ancient forts. The forts were built by its rulers to protect it from any invasion or attack. These forts are visited by large number of tourists. Nuzvid was founded by late Basavarayudu during the rule of Orugallu dynasty. The festival of Dussehra is celebrated here with great pomp and show and people from nearby areas gather here in large numbers to witness the celebrations. Few Rural sporting events that are organized here are also great attraction.
