Kadiri is a town in the Anantapur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a municipality, mandal headquarters and also the revenue divisional headquarters Kadiri. It belongs to Rayalaseema region. It is located 103 KM towards South from District head quarters Anantapur. It is a Mandal head quarter.
The name Kadiri emerged from a Sanskrit word 'Khadri' meaning Canary wood or Indian Mulberry. This place is famous for Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swami temple. Kadiri is also famous for jasmine flowers and vermilion. It was rich in agriculture in whole of Anantapur, till recently, very well-known for groundnut and sunflower crops.
